The Lion Who Forgot His Roar

A Lion cub was separated from his family and was found and raised by a herd of wild Goats. He grew up eating grass and bleating like a goat. He did not know he was a lion; he believed he was a goat. One day, an old, fierce Lion came upon the herd, intending to hunt. He was shocked to see a magnificent young lion grazing and bleating among the goats. The old Lion roared, and the other goats scattered in terror, but the young lion just trembled, bleating in fear along with them. The old Lion cornered him. "What are you doing?" the old Lion roared. "You are a lion, the king of the forest!" The young lion just cried, "I am not a lion, I am a goat! Please don't eat me!" The old Lion dragged him to a still pool of water. "Look," he commanded. The young lion looked at his reflection and saw not the face of a goat, but the powerful face of a lion, right next to the old king's. At that moment, something deep inside him awoke. The old Lion let out another mighty roar and told the young one to do the same. The young lion opened his mouth, and for the first time, let out a powerful roar that shook the trees. He had discovered his true nature.
