The Hare and the Sun's Daughter
The Sun had a beautiful daughter whom he kept hidden. He declared that he would give her to any creature who could bring him a bag full of stars. All the animals tried and failed. The clever Hare, however, had a plan. He did not try to go to the sky. He went to a field at night that was filled with thousands of fireflies. He captured them all in a large, loosely-woven bag. The light of the fireflies shone through the bag, and it looked exactly like a sack full of twinkling stars. He took the bag to the Sun. The Sun was so delighted and amazed by the beautiful, shimmering gift that he did not look too closely. He granted the Hare his daughter's hand in marriage. The Hare had proven that earthly ingenuity and a clever illusion can be powerful enough to win even a celestial prize.
