The Spider and the Chameleon's Cloak

The Spider and the Chameleon were both invited to a feast in the sky kingdom. The Spider, being vain, spent all his time weaving a magnificent, glittering cloak to impress the gods. The Chameleon, being humble, wove a simple cloak of plain brown cloth. When they arrived, the gods were indeed impressed by the Spider's dazzling cloak. However, the feast was held in a garden of shimmering flowers. The Chameleon, with his plain cloak, walked into the garden, and his cloak magically took on the beautiful patterns of the flowers around him. When he stood by the red hibiscus, his cloak became red. When he stood by the blue lilies, it became blue. The gods were enchanted by this living, changing beauty. They ignored the Spider's static, glittering cloak and awarded the Chameleon the seat of honour. The Spider, shamed and forgotten, learned that true beauty is not about showing off, but about being able to adapt and reflect the beauty of the world around you.
